DIY Theatre® projection screens are delivered to you as a liquid. Not a paint but rather a patent pending polymer coating that you will install yourself. This gives you huge control and a lot of cost savings – and it is designed to be very simple.

Lets talk about the selection and installation of your projection screen. When you make the decision to build a home theater you have many decisions. One of them is what screen you should install and this is most important, as it will effect how good the image will look to you. Do you know the exact size you want the image to be? Traditional projection screen manufacturers only make certain sizes for you to choose. For example in video format they typically only offer their product in 72”, 84”, 100” or 120” diagonal sizes. What if you want 93-1/2” diagonal or what if you are not sure? Here is the answer. With DIY Theatre® projection screens you are in total control and you can have any size you want, in any format you want and place it anywhere you want, all at no difference in cost, no up-charges for custom sizes.

Here’s how it works:
Lets look at one example of a common installation of our screen. We recommend you build your theater and install your projector. Then turn on your projector with an image, zoom in and out to the exact size you desire. You decide what looks best in your theater – the exact size, format and how high or low on the wall you desire the image. Chances are that will be a lot different than the size available elsewhere. And when you find the best image you will mark the edges to prepare to install your DIY Theatre® projection screen.

If you desire the old style projection screen products you would have to make that decision weeks ahead of time, track down a dealer, if there is one in your area, place the order, pay the shipping and tax along with the dealer up-charge and wait the lead time and hope it fits where you want it when it arrives. With a DIY Theatre® projection screen you can order today because we sell direct to you – no middleman - and we always ship no later than next business day via FED-EX®, UPS®, or USPS®.  Certain non US shipments may originate from international inventories for faster delivery.  If we ever can not ship the next business day we will advise you promptly by return e-mail.

So now you have taken full control of the format and the size. How do you take control of the gain and contrast? While other manufacturers may offer contrast on some of their screen models DIY Theatre, LLC offers you three levels of contrast or no contrast on all our screens. Your choice and no extra charge. But your choice of gain is much different. You do not need to decide the gain level until you install our screen. We will provide you with an activator and the amount you add to the screen coating will determine the gain. So you can wait to see how your projector performs, the exact room lighting in your theater and how much uncontrolled light you may have from windows or adjacent halls or rooms.
